
Several Indianola spring sports squads were in action Monday evening, facing tough squads from around the area. In boys soccer, the Indians fell to Des Moines Hoover 3-1. Head Coach Hunter Viedenkamp tells KNIA sports the Indians suffered some early injuries on the defensive end, which threw off the back end discipline. The lone Indian goal came from Carter Bussanmus. The Indians are now 0-3, and host Pella today.
Boys tennis came away with a dominating 9-2 victory over Urbandale. The Indians got victories from Bradyn Upchurch at #1 singles, Colton Miller at #2 singles, Ian Smith at #4, and Matthew Beals at #5. The Indians swept the doubles matches of Colton Miller and Ian Smith, Bradyn Upchurch and Matthew Beals, Joe Menke and James Howard, Tom Krapfl and David O’Meara, and Jake Brend and Curran Wadle. The Indians are right back in action today hosting Pella.
Indianola girls golf hosted Dallas Center-Grimes at the Indianola country club, falling 225-183. The Indians top scorers came from Olivia Mckelvey with 52, Macy Grimsrud with 53, Maddie Hayes 58, Jaiden Wallander 65, and Abbey Coffey 65. The Indians will next compete tomorrow at Ankeny.
