The Pella School Board approved summer projects at their meeting Monday. They reviewed and gave the go-ahead for plans for work to be done when students are gone as it relates to the technology, transportation, maintenance, and building security departments. For next school year, the board added nearly $330,000 in security upgrades as part of an ongoing district effort to bolster student and staff safety. Funding to improve the parking lot at Madison Elementary was also approved, and a public hearing was set to accept a bid for the project on April 22nd. A review of the district’s PPEL and SAVE fund accounts was on the agenda as well.
