Volunteers are needed at the National Balloon Museum in Indianola this spring and summer, to give tours and staff the area. Curator of the museum Becky Wigeland tells KNIA News the museum is only open for short increments, so it is not a big time commitment to come volunteer, but it means a lot to the museum.
“We are only open Wednesday-Sunday from 1-4pm, so that’s only three hours. We are looking for people who could volunteer 2-3 times per month, so that’s only 9 hours per month, and it would help keep us open to the public. We have a video for people to watch, a sign-in book, attractions that go back to 1783-present, and we will train you. All it takes to volunteer is a smile.”
