Three Simpson College students recently took home the top prize at the Midwest Instruction and Computing Symposium Programming Contest at North Dakota State University. The trio is known as the “Flat Earthers” and comprised of Drew Roen, Nathan Magalhaes, and Max Folkers. The team solved 7 of 8 problems in the three hour time limit, with no other team solving more than 6. Simpson had two other teams place in the competition, with the team of Mark Becker, Sam Law, and Payton McBurney placing 7th and Blake Dalmas, Bryson Cook, and George Saucedo placing 15th.
