Even though Easter is still over a week off, some parents can get the jump on the holiday with an Easter egg hunt this weekend.
It begins with a nighttime hunt on Friday evening, the Indianola Parks and Recreation District will host the annual Flashlight Easter Egg Hunt at Pickard Park. It will start at dusk, about 8:15 p.m. by the shelter house; children must register, and have their own flashlight and bag for eggs. There will be a bonfire and s’mores afterwards.
Then on Saturday, the Melcher-Dallas Lions Club will host its Easter egg hunt at 10:00 a.m. in the city park. The Lions Club says they’ll start precisely at ten, and the hunt lasts about 30 seconds…so parents and kids shouldn’t be late. The rain date is next Saturday at 10:00 a.m.
Also on Saturday, April 20th; the City of Bussey will host its egg hunt beginning at 10:00 a.m. at South Park. The event is for ages two through nine; only children will be allowed to participate, and no parental assistance is permitted.
Pleasantville’s turn comes at 11:30 a.m. at the soccer fields; this Easter egg hunt is open for kids from pre-kindergarten to fifth grade. Parents are encouraged to come early so their children will be able to get into the scramble, and then stay afterwards for pictures with the Easter Bunny.
Then at 1 o’clock the Knoxville Noon Kiwanis will host an Easter egg hunt at the corner of Lincoln and Madison. It will be open for children ages one to twelve.
The KNIA/KRLS Lil’ Big Red Radio will be on the scene, playing music and helping to entertain the crowd.
