The final event in the Central Faculty Lecture Series will focus on Cosmopolitanism and the meaning of community. Lecturer in Philosophy Anna Christensen is hosting a lecture titled “Would You Be My Neighbor: Ancient Cosmopolitanism as an Aid to Community” at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 16, in the Boat/Moore rooms of the Maytag Student Center on Central’s campus. The event is free and open to the public. Christensen says cosmopolitanism declares all human beings, regardless of political affiliation, race and creed are citizens of a single community. Christensen will examine the subject and discuss how these teachings help solve current political and social concerns.
