The Knoxville Raceway is once again preparing for its season opener, after last week’s scheduled event had to be called off due to the threat of severe weather.
Kendra Jacobs from the Raceway tells KNIA/KRLS News all events will go on as planned, beginning tomorrow night.
“We are going to have the season kick-off party on Friday in Dyer-Hudson (Hall); it will be from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. So that’s Casey’s Pizza, Busch Light on tap, Pepsi products for everyone else. The new season opener will be on April 20th; we have not picked an exact time of hot laps starting, we want to watch the weather and see what the temps will be,” Jacobs says.
Saturday night’s races are now dubbed the Town Crier/Kraig Ford/Pella Motors Season Opener; Jacobs hopes this will be the only weather-related delay of the season, and the Knoxville Raceway will carry on with the remainder of its schedule.
