Those who want to help support monarch butterflies can do so as the Pella Public Library will be giving out free milkweed seed on Saturday, April 27th from 10 a.m. to noon. There will be several varieties and information available about milkweed and how it can help bolster the monarch population. As part of the Mayor’s Monarch Pledge, the City of Pella is encouraging residents to plant milkweed to provide habitat for monarch caterpillars.
