Local Iowa Hawkeye baseball players were recently awarded honors by the Big Ten Conference this week, as Pleasantville’s Zeb Adreon was awarded Player of the Week and Indianola’s Brendan Sher was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week. Adreon doubled in three games against Ohio State and hit .556 with three runs and five RBIs in four games with a home run. Sher hit .400 over the week, getting a 3 hit game against Milwaukee, including the game-tying run in the 11th inning. The honors pile up for south central Iowa athletes, as Pella’s Grant Judkins was named as Big Ten Pitcher of the Week in February.
