The Warren County Board of Supervisors met in a special work session meeting Tuesday morning, centered around the discussion of a possible housing development north of Indianola near the Warren/Polk County border. The property in question is owned by Spence Family Farms, and would need to be de-annexed by the City of Des Moines for Warren County to be able to act, with the board indicating it would not waver on the policy of developers needing to pave a gravel road to the nearest paved road. The discussion was preliminary, with no official action taken by the board. The board also discussed proposed zoning ordinance changes that would better define certain language in the code. The proposed changes will be on the agenda for official action during the board meeting on May 7th.
