Former Indianola Police Officer William E. “Pop” Hickman will be included on the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Wall in Washington DC on May 13th, during the National Police Week Candlelight Vigil. Hickman passed away in 1957 from injuries sustained while investigating a vehicle accident. The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial is the nation’s monument to law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty. May 15 is National Police Officer Memorial Day.
