The Well is well underway with its annual volunteer service project; Transform involves people offering their services to help with a variety of projects, ranging from home repair and lawn maintenance to painting and moving.

With their new center opening in Knoxville, The Well is expanding its services to help local residents; one example involves Bryan Gaylor, who tells KNIA/KRLS News he and other volunteers were able to help one resident move.

“Three volunteers with myself, and we helped move a client from the north side of Knoxville down to the center part of Knoxville into a home; she was in an apartment, and she was ecstatic,” Gaylor says.

“She was very happy (about) us being able to get her moved…but not only get her moved, but get her moved in just over an hour, which she was very happy about. It was a wonderful experience.”

More projects are coming up as the weekend approaches, and Jayson Henry from The Well says they can always use more people to help out.

“We’ve got a good number of volunteers signed up; we are still taking volunteers, primarily on Friday and Saturday of this week. If they want to just show up at either the Pella location or on Saturday at the Knoxville location, we’ll have people here in Knoxville so we can get them plugged into a project.

“We do have a good number of volunteers; we’ll always welcome more,” Henry says.

Volunteers can work on Thursday and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., on either morning or afternoon shifts; and on Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
