Add another South Central Conference championship to the list of accomplishments for Knoxville this spring. Thursday it was the girls tennis squad to celebrate as the Panthers won the conference title by one point over Clarke 19-18. Coach Nick DeMoss said the meet came down to the number two doubles team of Joselyn McKeever and Madelynn Liston winning a first round match over an Albia duo where Clarke’s number two doubles fell in the opening round. Alex Griggs took the individual singles title for the Panthers while the team of Anna Sanderson and Erica Blankenship placed fourth. Knoxville heads to Pella on Wednesday for the individual regional competition. Griggs will try to qualify for the state meet for the second consecutive year.
