A Knoxville couple are now facing charges of kidnapping, which have evolved from a case involving child endangerment from earlier this year.
49-year-old Rocky Wooldridge and 43-year-old Jennifer Wooldridge are each facing counts of first degree kidnapping, and Jennifer Wooldridge is also facing counts of child endangerment and abandonment or neglect of a dependent person.
Police arrested Rocky Wooldridge in March after a child in his care was reportedly found with thermal burns and severe bruising on his arm. An investigation by DHS indicated the home was in substandard condition, the child had not been outside the house in months and there were guns within reach of the child.
Police obtained a search warrant at the time and reported finding the weapons; as a convicted felon, Mr. Wooldridge would not be allowed to possess them.
