Pella Christian’s sprint group, finally 100 percent after an incredibly busy spring, found a top finish at the state track and field meet.

Tulip Court member Mary Kate Bandstra and Soccer Striker Avey Amelse, coming into the meet rested, helped the Eagles grab a silver medal finish in the 4×200 relay, with Erica Nikkel and Chloe Morgan. Bandstra says there was a wave of positive emotions after seeing the finish.

“This is pretty special for us, we’d only run it a couple of times and we came in as ninth, so we wanted to run our best–even in the rain, and just have a lot of fun together and I think we’re surprised and proud of ourselves.”
