The Indianola boys 4x100m relay team broke a school record at day two of the Iowa High School State Track and Field event Friday, placing 16th with a time of 43.48. The squad consisted of Tryce Kirgan, Carter Erickson, Grant Hixson and Kolby Kolarik, and beat the previous record by just .02 seconds. Other results from Friday included:
Alivia Bauer and Macie Mays placing 16th and 22nd respectively in the shot put
Rayna Sickels placed 16th in the 100m hurdles
Joey Werling placed 16th in the 400m hurdles
The girls distance medley team placed 8th with a time of 4:13.10
Girls 4x200m relay team of Patricia Steinfeldt, Grace Gioffredi, Aryss Forbes, and Leah Blake placed 21st
Girls 4x400m relay team of Jadyn Forbes, Aryss Forbes, Lauren Blake, and Bailey Blake placed 19th
The girls and boys sprint medley team will round out the Indianola action at the state meet this morning.
It was all about relays for the Pleasantville Girls Track and Field Squad and the Trojans will get to race on Championship Saturday for a gold medal in the four-by-100. The team of Emilee Smith, Sam Entinger, Rae Speicher, and Kasey Pelzer blistered the Blue Oval in a school record time of :51.40 for fourth place overall and a spot in the finals. The Trojans were also in the 4×200 and placed 20th with a time of 1:50.87.
