Knoxville city officials are vowing to clean up this town…by introducing Operation Clean Sweep in June.

The city’s Code Enforcement Department will be making an effort during the month to raise awareness of the problems of blight in local neighborhoods.

Inspectors will be checking all properties around town for code violations; this can run the gamut from lawns needing mowing, to vehicles parked in yards, to houses which need painting.

Code Enforcement officers will leave door hangers after each exterior inspection is completed.

The overall goal is to encourage a clean and healthy environment for the community, and to encourage pride in local properties.
