Indianola American Legion Post 165 is hosting a Memorial Day Parade in downtown Indianola on Monday. The parade will line up at 9am at the Warren County Administration Building and start around the square at 10am. Co-Director of Warren County Veterans Affairs Ted Hall tells KNIA News you don’t have to be related or have a connection to a veteran to show support on Memorial Day.

“There will be all kinds of veterans young and old, some still serving, some that served in wars, some that served in peacetime. The parade and later service will be an opportunity to remember those who have passed away in service to this country, to protect our freedom that we sometimes take for granted.”

After the parade concludes, a memorial service with all invited will be held at the IOOF (Independent Order of Odd Fellows) Cemetery, with State Representative Scott Ourth speaking to the public.
