Rain cut the state golf tournament in Fort Dodge short, and the Pella boys golf team will finish in 6th place in Class 3A. Tournament officials cancelled the scheduled second day after 1-2″ of rain fell overnight, causing poor course conditions. After day one, the sixth-place Dutch shot 318, which was 18 shots off of the pace of first place Nevada (300), who won the state title. Pella was just one stroke behind 4th place Norwalk and Central DeWitt (each at 317). John Oltman had the 8th best score among individuals, carding a 75, and Will Simpson shot 77, good for 19th best in the field. Trey Wood and Luke Galeazzi each turned in an 83. Course officials determined the Lakeside Golf Course was unplayable due to heavy rain falling overnight, which froze the final standings after day one.
