Seventh graders at Pella Middle School made donations to several local non-profit organizations through their social studies class. This year, students raised over $3,100 at a concession stand set up during events this winter. From that money, $2,600 was donated to non-profit organizations and causes as voted on by students in Mrs. Schulz 7th grade social studies class and the student body. Families of Pella Middle School students facing medical expenses, The Well, Crossroads of Pella, Many Hands for Haiti, the American Red Cross, and The Thirst Project were among the recipients. To date, Pella Middle School seventh grade students have raised over $23,000 for over two dozen non-profit organizations. Tune into Let’s Talk Pella today to hear from the students who organize the project each year.
