The Indianola Community School District has several hiring priorities for the next school year set by the Indianola School Board HR Committee. Superintendent Art Sathoff tells KNIA News the board HR Committee wanted to focus on hiring a range of new employees to fit the growing needs of the district.
“At-risk math support currently shares a person between the middle school and high school, so the board wants to have a full time person in each building. Nursing assistants in our health offices. Currently we have three school nurses and six health associates, and they suggested looking for a half-time nurse. And the third suggestion was we have an opening for a tech teacher, and we wanted that with a priority on ag education, to take some of the pressure off of our ag education courses.”
Sathoff also said nothing is official or set in stone as of yet, and nothing has been voted on by the full board.
