Tomorrow marks a busy day for the Knoxville Police Department; not on patrol, but at two events intended for the general public and for kids in particular.
The Knoxville P.D.’s annual Kids Fishing Day will be at Marion County Park from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Kids ages 8 to 17 are invited to join officers for a day of fishing; the department has partnered with Marion County Conservation, the Iowa Department of Natural Resources, local businesses and community partners to host the event.
Lunch will be served at noon, and prizes will be given away to the kids in attendance.
Meanwhile, the Knoxville Police will also be staging their annual Bike Sale around the same time, in the city storage shed at Roche and Rock Island Streets.
The sale begins at 10:00 a.m. and continues until all bicycles are sold off; these are bikes which have been recovered by officers at various locations around town over the past year, and each is being sold for a flat fee of $10 dollars.
Bikes for all ages will be available; buyers must be 18 or older, and present photo identification. These bicycles are expected to go fast, so buyers are being urged to arrive before 10 o’clock.
