An Odebolt man was arrested Friday following an investigation stemming from a two-vehicle accident which occurred on April 6th. According to court documents, 33-year-old Christopher Lee Miller was driving a 1993 Ford Ranger when it struck a guardrail and rolled multiple times near mile marker 65 on Highway 5 just west of Knoxville. Court documents state that at the time of the accident Miller was in possession of 3.45 grams of psilocybin mushrooms. During the investigation officers located a Glock handgun in a ditch next to Miller’s vehicle that had been reported stolen from the Iowa State University Police Department. On April 9th officers met with Miller at which time Miller asked the officers if they had located his dad’s handgun. Miller told officers the gun had been located on the seat next to Miller prior to the accident. Under further investigation officers learned Miller was a current felon following a conviction in Colorado for assault felony menacing-real simulated weapon. Miller is charged with felon in control of a firearm a class D felony, OWI 2nd offense an aggravated misdemeanor, theft 3rd degree an aggravated misdemeanor, carrying a weapon while intoxicated an aggravated misdemeanor and possession of a controlled substance 1st, 2nd and 3rd offense.
