Thrive Knoxville was the recipient of a $1,000 check Thursday that was donated by the Knoxville Police Department. The donation comes from from funds the department received during last years Freedom 5k. Lieutenant Aaron Fuller with the department tells KNIA/KRLS its nice to give back to an organization that does such good things for the community. Fuller says the department is appreciative of what Thrive does by getting people back out in the community.
City Manager and Thrive Member Aaron Adams say Thrive is trying to put its best foot forward and to do that it takes donations like the one they are received Thursday. Adams adds the donation from the Knoxville Police Department is very helpful and Thrive is very appreciative. Registration for this years Freedom 5k is already underway with the race schedule for July 4th.
