The Knoxville high school dance team has come up with a way to help pay for their new uniforms while also giving back to the community. The team will be selling Love Your Melon hats as a fundraiser and community service project for their upcoming season. Knoxville Schools Superintendent Cassi Pearson tells KNIA/KRLS News half of the money raised will be used to purchase new competition uniforms while the other half will be donated to The Well in Knoxville. Pearson says, one of the things the school district has stressed to their students and coaches is giving back to the community and having partners to support each other. She adds, there are so many great people and groups that support the school district, so as a school they want to make sure they support their partners as well. The team will be selling the different beanies for between $35 and $45 each with a goal of selling at least 200. If the team can reach the goal of 200 they would receive $1,000 towards new uniforms while also being able to donate $1,000 to The Well in Knoxville.
