The relationship between Indianola and the other communities in the Des Moines Metro area continues to grow, with Indianola’s participation with Catch Des Moines, the Greater Des Moines Convention & Visitors Bureau. Indianola City Council member John Parker is Indianola’s representative on the Catch Des Moines Board and tells KNIA News for the past several years, Indianola has been a big part of the growing metro area.
“At the time new City Manager Ryan Waller hit the ground right away when we decided to pursue this, and reached out to Catch Des Moines and the Greater Des Moines Partnership to use them for different events that we had, or a knowledge base, or to put us in contact with other organizations, and it’s been very successful. And because of that we have been included more and more, and we are becoming more a part of the region rather than being stuck down at the bottom of the map.”
