The Knoxville School District is taking a harder stance on security throughout the district for the upcoming school year. The district is partnering with Raptor Technologies from Houston Texas to provide the district with enterprise-level integrated school safety technologies. Business Manager for the district, Craig Mobley tells KNIA/KRLS News the new program has two packages with the first being a visitor, volunteer management program that features the ability for anyone visiting the district to have their ID scanned against the National Sex Offender Registry. The second package is the emergency management platform that will link with the district’s new emergency management plan for standard response protocol and the standard reunification method. Mobley adds, the new technologies will allow district staff to have more real time information in case an emergency were to happen.
