The Warren County Board of Supervisors met in special session Friday morning, discussing the proposal for a new secondary roads shop and a bond referendum for road repairs, among other items. The board discussed taking a loan out instead of a public bond vote to pay for the shop, which is estimated to cost around $6.5 million, or a scaled down version which would cost around $3 million. The board also considered a bond referendum for November to repair four major roads in the county:

Highways R57 from Highway 92 to G24
Highway S23 from Milo to Lacona
Highway G16 from Highway 65 to Carlisle
And Highway G76 from New Virginia to Highway 69

The referendum would be put to vote to approve approximately $7.75 million in repairs to conduct an asphalt lift on the roads. The board took no official action on either item, but agreed to meet in another special meeting in mid-July to further discuss the issue.
