Registration is ongoing for the 8th annual Red Rock Balloonfest 5K/10K, which begins on the Saturday morning of Balloonfest at North Overlook Beach. Pella Christian Cross Country Coach Mike Buchheit and Knoxville Cross Country Coach Michael Splavec say the race raises funds for programs at Pella, Knoxville, and Pella Christian. Splavec says the annual tradition features a team component as well, which allows groups to be scored against others, similar to a cross country meet. The Balloonfest 5K/10K begins at 8 a.m. on Saturday.
