The Pella City Council will address several items after their regular meeting during policy and planning Tuesday. Discussion from a July 2nd work session will continue as it relates to a potential tulip field being requested by Pella Historical Society. An ad-hoc committee was formed to discuss potential locations for a 25,000 bulb field, approximately 1/8th of an acre in size with room for growth in the future. Pella Historical Society has offered to provide bulbs and labor for ground preparation, planting, landscaping, and maintenance. Council will also review a request to potentially allow minors to remain in establishments which sell alcohol, but where sales are less than 50% of gross income. Potential amendments relating to drive through restaurant signs, any public measures to consider in the November election, and a proposed change to an agreement with Iowa Regional Utilities Association will also be discussed. No formal action will be taken until later council meetings for those topics. The Pella City Council meets Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the Public Safety Complex.
