The Pleasantville School Board met in regular session Tuesday. The board approved the resignations of Barb Persoon and Sandy Schloemer as National Honor Society Sponsors as well as approved the hiring of Stephanie VandeKamp as an Elementary Special Education Associate. They approved the open enrollment request for five students to leave the district as well as approved a sabbatical leave request. The board approved an out of state travel request for Superintendent Tony Aylsworth for professional development and approved a 28E agreement with the Knoxville School District for activities, trap shooting and mock trial.
They approved an activity fund internal transfer from both the Class of 2018 and Concessions for $1,678.88 to the Vocational Ag Club. The board approved the acceptance of a $25,000 donation from Weiler to be used towards an exhaust system for the high school welding area and also approved the official school district publication. They approved Robert Friday as Board Secretary and Treasurer for 2019-2020 as well as Linda Russell as a level one investigator, Tony Aylsworth as alternate level one investigator and Joe Mrstik as a level two investigator.
