The Indianola City Council approved city staff to contribute up to $126,000 for the repair and maintenance to the Indianola YMCA facilities at their most recent meeting. City Manager Ryan Waller tells KNIA News:
“What we presented to council was a list of repair and maintenance items that had to be done. Some of which were clearly our responsibility, some of which were the Y’s, and some were in a gray area. So what we had done is work with our peers at the Y, and we came up with several items that made sense for the city as the landlord to help participate in. A lot were tied to the pool, which is used a lot from our community. Nothing serious as far as repairs, just general maintenance, but the YMCA is an asset to our community and we want to keep it in good working condition.”
