The Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs announced it has awarded more than $2.1 million in grants for art, film, history and culture. For the second year, Pella Historical Society and Museums is receiving an award of $15,000, which is specified for the operation of the museum. Pella Historical Society and Museums is responsible for a $3.5 million economic footprint each year to Pella and a 30-mile radius, according to an MBA study by the University of Northern Iowa, drawing hundreds of thousands of visitors during Tulip Time each year, and another 50,000 the rest of the year.
