Both the Indianola softball and baseball teams were well represented on the Little Hawkeye Conference All-Conference lists for the 2019 season.
Making the softball 1st team was pitcher Kate Kralik, catcher Sammie Becker, DP/Pitcher Brooke Tucker, and outfielder Gracey May. Kralik earned a 31-3 record and and 168 K’s on the season. Becker had a .385 batting average, 9 HR, and 39 RBI. Tucker hit 15 HR and drove in 45 on the season, and May hit .341 and was 10/10 in stolen bases. Making the 2nd team for Indianola was SS Destiny Lewis. Despite a season shortened by an illness, Lewis hit .438, 11 HR, and drove in 28. Infielders Kassie Baker and Emily Chaplin were named as honorable mentions, with Baker owning a .991 fielding percentage at first base, and Chaplin batting .387 driving in 18 runs.
On the baseball side, infielders Tyce Johnson and Kael Kolarik were named to the first team. Johnson hit .328 with 2 HR and driving in 24, while going 3-2 on the pitching mound with 64 K’s. Freshman Kael Kolarik hit .325 , drove in 22, and swiped 16 bases. Pitcher Joey Bylund, and infielders Grady Haynes and Gabe Zwanzinger were all named to the 2nd team. Bylund was 6-0 on the mound with a 2.38 ERA, only walking 15 batters. Haynes led the Indians in HR’s with 4, hit .302 and drove in 28, while Zwanzinger also drove in 28 runs and went 4-1 on the pitching mound. Seniors Cam Williams and Quinn Vesey were named as honorable mentions, with Vesey hitting .297 on the season swiping 13 bases, and Williams played behind the dish throwing out 13 runners and hitting 8 doubles.
