The second day of competition at the 2019 National Balloon Classic starts today, beginning with the annual parade around the Indianola downtown square. The parade will begin at 11am, with line up beginning at 10:30am on Detroit St. near Veterans Memorial Aquatic Center. Trophies will be awarded for the best use of the 2019 theme, On The Rise, as well as a prize awarded for crowd favorite. Today will also mark the mass ascension balloon rise at 6:30pm, with fireworks and the Dirty Rotten Scoundrels playing when the sun goes down. The KNIA Lil’ Big Red Radio will be on location today and tomorrow, playing music near the stage from 4:30 to 7pm.
