A New Virginia man has been arrested after he allegedly sent a 13-year-old girl obscene photos of himself and enticed her for sex. According to court documents, in February of this year a minor child spoke with law enforcement officers and informed them that 40-year-old Brian Cooper of New Virginia had been in contact with the minor’s friend, another minor child, and had sent the minor obscene photos of himself as well as offering money for sex. During the interview with the minor, who had been in contact with Cooper, she told police she had received Facebook messages from Cooper in October of 2018 and believed Cooper was between the ages of 26 and 30. She also stated that Cooper knew she was only 13. She said that during the conversation on Facebook Cooper had gotten high and offered her money for sex. The minor told officers she blocked Cooper on Facebook but that Cooper had then added her on Instagram under a private account.

The minor told officers she and Cooper began texting off and on and she spoke with him over the phone on January 31, 2019. The child told police that during the conversation Cooper introduced the topic of sex and then sent the child nude photos of himself as well as emojis depicting sex. The child also stated that Cooper had asked the her to send pictures of her genitalia, which she didn’t. She also told officers Cooper had bragged about sex and talked about orgasms. The minor told police she called and told her friend about the situation and that her friend had said that Cooper was 40 and was dangerous and was concerned Cooper was going to rape her. The girl said that she spoke with Cooper following the conversation with her friend and told him not to contact her anymore.

Officers found that Cooper’s phone content corroborated the minor’s statements. The content of the phone also showed that Cooper had stated he would pay to “hangout” and asked the minor to put him in her phone under an alias name and hide images in a hidden folder. Cooper was interviewed by police who said he was so high all the time he doesn’t remember speaking with any of the juveniles and if he had to guess, he thought he had sent photos to three of them. Cooper has been charged with two counts of enticing a minor under 16 for sexual purpose, a class D felony as well as dissemination and exhibition of obscene material to a minor a serious misdemeanor.
