The application deadline for the Southern Iowa Honor Flights upcoming flight to Washington DC on September 10th is coming up. The deadline for applications is Thursday, August 1st. The goal of the Southern Iowa Honor Flights is to take as many WWII, Korean and Vietnam Veterans as possible to Washington DC to see their respective memorials. Applications are available online for download at southerniowahonorflight.com. All applications must be mailed to PO Box 592, Knoxville, Iowa

Organizers are also in the process of collecting donations to cover the cost of the flight. Expenses include one night and two meals in Des Moines prior to departure, the cost of the flight itself as well as transportation and meals in Washington, D.C.
