Several local high school students recently competed in the Scholastic Clay Target Program national competition, with many top finishes among the athletes. Pella Christian placed 2nd overall as a High School Skeet Team, made up of Dominick Vermeer, Maclane Heinen, and Emily Uitermarkt. They also had top five finishes as a varsity skeet squad and from Dylan and Emily Utiermarkt, and were the Iowa All-State Team in skeet. Several members of the Pella Shooters Club also participated in the National Competition, placing 9th in Skeet, including Elizabeth Eisenbarth, Grace Eisenbarth, and Haley Starmer.
