Members of the Knoxville VFW Post 3519 were recently in attendance at the 120th VFW National Convention in Orlando, Florida. Post commander Jake Beaver received the All-American Award for the post. Junior Vice Commander for the Iowa VFW and Senior Vice Commander for Knoxville Post 3519, Michael Braman tells KNIA/KRLS News the convention had members from all 50 states as well as the Pacific and European divisions. Braman says the experience was cool to be able to meet with so many veterans and VFW members and learn more about what other posts are doing across the country and take those ideas back to Iowa. Thirty-four  VFW members from Iowa attended the convention which featured Secretary of State Mike Pompeo speaking to a crowd of 11,000 veterans and their families as well as a speech from Secretary of Veterans Affairs Robert Wilkie.
