Today we continue our top 10 countdown of the top moments of the 2018-19 school year with number five. The Simpson Storm softball team would crawl into the American Rivers Conference postseason tournament as the six seed via the tiebreaker over Nebraska Wesleyan, but wouldn’t let that stop them as they went up against #3 Wartburg in the first round. The game was back and forth, but the Knights had a one-run lead going into the final inning. With two outs and a runner on base, freshman centerfielder Cam Leo smoked a home run over the centerfield fence to put the Storm up 7-6, then in the bottom half of the inning made a spectacular running catch to end the ballgame with the winning run at the plate. The Storm fell to Coe in the semifinals 3-1, and ended their season with a 21-19 record.
