One of the top cross country girls in Class 3A returns to lead the Lady Dutch this fall. Caroline McMartin spent most of 2018 in the rankings and is a three-time state qualifier. Head Coach Doug Cutler says she leads an experienced group of seniors. Cutler says she will be contending for a return to the top 10 after a heartbreaking finish to her race in Fort Dodge to end last year. McMartin entered the state meet as the 9th ranked runner in Class 3A, and was just meters away from the finish line and a top ten finish before she collapsed and eventually crossed the line at 68th. But a fantastic track and field season has carried over into the summer, according to Cutler. Pella’s boys and girls open the season at Ankeny Centennial on August 27th.
