A new member has joined the Pella School Board. Annette Smith was appointed this summer and attended her first meeting earlier this month. Smith works as a nurse and as the director of Pathways of Pella, and says she has several young children who attend school in Pella, and she wanted to apply her passion for education in a way to serve the community. Smith replaces Lisa Jansen, who resigned in June and passed away shortly after, following a lengthy battle with cancer. Annette intends to run this November to fulfill the remainder of that term.
