The newly expanded and renovated Knoxville Public Library held their Grand Re-Opening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony Saturday. After over 9 years and 493 days of construction from groundbreaking to completion the library opened their doors and welcomed in the Knoxville community. President of the Knoxville Public Library Board, Dave Garcia tells KNIA/KRLS News he wants to say thank you to the city of Knoxville, Marion County and everyone that back the project from the beginning. Garcia says he is without words as to how happy and thankful he is but knows the community will love and enjoy the library as much as he does. A large crowd of community members and library supporters overflowed into Montgomery Street in front of the library to take witness to the ceremony and ribbon cutting. Light refreshments were served while residents toured the facility and all the new amenities the library has to offer.
