A mattress fundraiser provided a big boost to Pella High School’s award winning band programs. The students, directors, and parents with the Marching Dutch teamed up with Custom Fundraising Solutions to sell mattresses, and after the final tally, they earned more than $16,000. The program received a portion of funds for each mattress sold and bonuses for hitting certain thresholds. Co-Director Jason Pentico says this summer the bands purchased new equipment and will benefit from a new sound system installed at the football stadium. Pella opens their competitive performance season with an exhibition at the Marching Dutch Invitational on September 28th, and their first public show at halftime of this Friday’s home football game.
