As of January 2020, all Central College sophomores are invited to participate in Central’s new Career Kickstarter — a free, one-week program offered during winter break that offers guaranteed micro-internship opportunities, plus the opportunity to explore potential career paths. All students participating in the program will be paired with an alumni mentor or other local professional and engage with a local organization. Participants will do in-depth career exploration and planning and experience workshops on such topics as networking, resumé preparation, the use of professional social media, how to apply and prepare for an extended internship and more. The workshop experience will help students explore various career interests and equip them with the knowledge they need to pursue longer-term internships as they advance through their time at Central.
