Conceding a goal in the first three minutes, the Central College women’s soccer team settled for a 1-1 draw against Monmouth College Monday night. The Scots (1-0-1) scored off a corner kick just two minutes and 43 seconds into the game. Central evened the score with a set-piece goal of its own as Jessica Altman put a corner kick on the head of Alyssa Knuth to score the equalizer. Goalkeeper Taylor Golt recovered after the early goal to make three saves and preserve the draw. It was a homecoming on the Scots side of the field for Pella alumna Erica Bossard, a sophomore at Monmouth. She started for the road team and played in 100 of the 110 minutes of the extended match. Bossard was an All-District player for Pella when the Lady Dutch qualified for state in 2018. The University of Northwestern-St. Paul will come to Pella for a 5 p.m. match on Wednesday.
