With paperwork now available for anyone interested in running in the upcoming local city council or school board elections, residents are reminded that paperwork must be turned in by Thursday, September 19th at 5 pm. Interested candidates must complete and submit an affidavit of candidacy with nomination papers signed by at least 25 eligible electors. All forms must be filed with the Marion County or Warren County Auditor. Documents are available at the Marion County Courthouse, Warren County Courthouse, Knoxville City Hall, Pella City Hall, Indianola City Hall and online at city websites. In Knoxville, the spots held by Councilmembers Rick Kingery, James Lane and John Gotta as well as Mayor Brian Hatch are all up for election. In Pella, spots held by Mayor Jim Mueller, Ward 2  Harold Van Stryland, Ward 4 Larry Peterson and At-Large Tony Bokhoven are all up for reelection. And in Indianola Ward 1 John Parker, Ward 3 Joe Gezel, and At-Large Shirley Clark are all up for reelection as well. 

 

As far a school board elections, in Knoxville three school board spots are up for election that are currently held by Andrew Schmidt, Larissa Van Donselaar and Vickie Reed. In Pella three spots will also be up for election Tim Tripp, Gary Coppock and Annette Smith appointed for Lisa Jansen. And Indianola has four spots up for election Dacni Gabel, Kariann Voigts, Jay Wilkinson, and Rene Staudacher.
