Three Knoxville City Council positions as well as Knoxville Mayor Brian Hatch’s seat will all be up for election this November. The council spots up for election are currently held by council members James Lane, Rick Kingery and John Gotta. As of Tuesday, Four candidates have already filed the paperwork to have their names on the ballot. John Gotta, Mike Conner Jr., Jerrold Jordan, and Jyl DeJong will all be included on the ballot. Also as of Tuesday, council members James Land and Rick Kingery have not filed paperwork to be included on the ballot. Knoxville City Manager Aaron Adams tells KNIA/KRLS News interested individuals can pick up the paperwork at Knoxville City Hall but all paperwork must be turned in and filed with the county. Adams says Knoxville City Hall can not accept any paperwork and that it must be turned in to the county auditor. The deadline for paperwork to be filed is Thursday, September 19th by 5 pm. A full list of candidates running for the November city council election will be available from the Marion County Auditor’s Office by Friday.
