The Pella Christian volleyball team pushed all they could but they couldn’t complete a five-set upset, falling to No. 9 in 5A Indianola on Eagle Lane 3-2 (25-8, 24-26, 25-19, 24-26, 17-15) Tuesday night. After dropping the first set by 17 points, the Eagles were able to close the gap and play back-and-forth volleyball over the last four sets. Head Coach Dr. Joanna Settles says while the end result was not what they wanted, the evening showed the potential the Eagles have as they continue to develop. Emma Dunsbergen finished with six kills and five blocks, Natalie Harrill was 19 of 19 serving with two aces, and Sarah Gritters tallied eight kills and three aces. The 4-5 Eagles have a stretch of several games for the rest of the week, heading to the Des Moines Christian tournament Thursday.
