The fundraising results of this year’s Your Life Matters 5K Walk and Run have been announced. This year the run featured 386 participants and raised over $17,000. In part, the money raised from this years run will bring in mental health speaker Jeff Yalden who will give a free community presentation at the Knoxville Performing Arts Center on Monday, September 30th at 7 pm. Yalden will also conduct two special assemblies for Knoxville students on the afternoon of September 30th and the morning of October 1st. The Your Life Matters committee would like to take time to thank all of the participants and volunteers whose efforts are what make the event possible. They look forward to continuing efforts to promote suicide prevention and awareness throughout the community. They are always exploring ways to save lives, and encourage new ideas to be submitted anytime through the group’s Facebook page.
